Motorized scooters shall be banned from the walkways.
Reasons
- Moving scooters endanger pedestrians.
- Parked scooters obstruct the walkway and create a barrier, in particular for the elderly and disabled.
Suggestions
- Only ban rental scooters: This is an interesting idea and I actually see the point. However, I will not adopt it for this initiative because a full ban should be a voting option. Please consider an alternative suggestion. -not adopted-
Suggestions for improvement (1)
written and rated by the supporters of this initiative to improve the proposal and its reasons
Make an exception for individually owned scooters
The vast majority of scooters obstructing the walkways are rentals. Individual owners usually store their equipment in a safe place and don't obstruct the walkway. Furthermore, they don't show such a tendency to careless driving.
