The City should introduce more physical barriers between walkways and the driveway in high traffic zones. Likewise, the City should take appropriate measures to keep cyclists on their lanes. This includes ensuring that bike paths are not obstructed by parking cars.

Rationale

Over the past years, Plaine Commune has put considerable effort in making walking more attractive. However, cars sometimes come dangerously close to pedestrians, or park in a way that obstructs a part of the walkway. Cyclists often use the walkway because their own lanes are obstructed by parking cars. The aims of the measures are

Plain commune becomes safer for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers alike.
Walking in Plain Commune becomes even more attractive.
Air quality will continue to improve.
